The Oxford Fire Prevention Division comprises of two full-time employees, which is led by the Fire Marshal with support from a Fire Inspector.  This division's primary responsibility is code enforcement and fire prevention.

The duties of the Oxford Fire Prevention Division include:

• Annual commercial fire inspections

• Plan review and inspections of fire detection and suppression systems

• Fire investigations

• Oxford Fire smoke detector program

• Educating the public/schools

• Fire emergency preparedness training

• Fire extinguisher training

• Knoxbox program
